Main European Roulette Rules

According to the European roulette rules roulette is played at the table with the wheel and betting space called the roulette layout. The game layout consists of 12 separate columns of number spaces ( for placing the inside bets) and slots used for different kinds of roulette bets. The wheel contains the same amount of number sections (36) plus extra 0 ( zero). The number sections on the roulette wheel are marked in red and black, only zero section is green. Furthermore, the roulette slots alternate between black and red and also odd and even numbers. The numbers pattern on the wheel is created by the group of roulette designers and today such design is regarded as a standard. A special white ivory ball and multicolored chips for each player are used in the game. It must be mentioned that European and American roulettes are practically the same because the roulette game strategies do not differ much, the only significant distinction is the usage of double zero section on American roulette wheel and betting zone.

European roulette rules are pretty simple to understand. When the game starts the gamblers bet by placing colorful chips on the numbered sections. The roulette players have chance to make inside bets (on one or several chosen numbered cells) or outside bets (on a selection of numbered sections). The roulette croupier rotates the roulette wheel and lands the white ball on the outer line of the roulette wheel. Whilst the roulette wheel stops gradually the roulette players are able to end placing bets. According to the European roulette rules it is prohibited to place more bets after the roulette croupier says “No more bets!” After the white ball stops at a definite wheel cell  the winner is determined. The roulette dealer gives off winning bets and remaining bets are taken off by the casino. Payouts are various for various kinds of bets.
